Field Library

Initiated by a volunteer from South Korea, this project began by creating a children’s library, of more than three hundred books, inside an informal settlement in the Zahle area. Most Syrian refugee children and adolescents living in informal settlements in the area have not had access to formal schooling for many years, if at all. The purpose of the library is to provide children and adolescents with basic story books and educational books, for the benefit of all. The library is now cared for by the community itself, with the support of teachers at the community’s informal school.
