Homework Support
Homework support aims to help Syrian and Lebanese children to remain engaged and enrolled in the public school system. Several subjects in Lebanese public schools are taught in English and a high percentage of Syrian children have never had access to regular English classes. In addition many students who have missed a number of years of education struggle to catch up to their peers in subjects such as math and Arabic. With very high class numbers in public schools many teachers are not able to provide such students with the additional support they need.
In our daily morning and afternoon homework classes at our community center, teachers and volunteers support the children with their homework, making sure they don’t fall behind, can stay in school, and excel during their midterm and final exams.
