At the beginning of 2018 Salam bought a truck and custom built a classroom on the back of it. The idea was inspired by our Bus Project, the first moveable classroom we built. The Bus Project had been running for a year with good results and with very positive impact being noted amongst beneficiaries. This time we want to expand the project, enabling us to reach more isolated settlements and areas where the roads are too narrow and bumpy for the regular bus. In April 2018 the truck joined our bus in the field, ensuring a greater reach with our education programs. All children deserve to learn. When they are unable to reach a school, we bring the school to them.
During the 2018 summer season we will be providing educational support to over 200 children, living within 4 different settlements. The children range in age from 6-12 years old, some have been in school before and others have never had the opportunity. The objective is to provide educational support that will ensure continued learning throughout the year, and support for those children who are currently illiterate.
